About

We are an Emergency Food Bank. Donations we receive are packaged into bags for the hungry. Bags consist of meals for 3 days including fruits, vegetables, meats, rice or pasta. Daily Food Pantry – Available to serve the hungry on a daily basis requires current ID cards and social security cards of all individuals in the household.

In 2008 we gave out over 5,000 bags of food to needy families.

We also distribute for those in need by request hygiene products, including shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, tooth brushes, deodorants and lotions. Additionally we can provide items for children such as we will diapers, formula and baby food. This is all dependent upon donations.

We assist with utility bills. (Electric, gas and water). At the present time we are only able to help with a utility once every six months.

The Neighborhood Center recognizes the need in the community for assistance with rent or mortgage. There are always certain qualifications for this assistance dependent on the guidelines of the funding agencies.

We are an emergency shelter with a total of 10 beds (6 male and 4 female). Clients are able to stay for a maximum of 30 days – room and board is supplied at no cost. In 2008 we housed over 240 clients and served 2,700 meals.

We also offer transitional housing. We have availability of 16 male beds and four single women beds. Also we offer housing for 2 single women with children (sheltering up to four children). We have one family house with space for parents and up to 2 children per parent.

Other services rendered are crisis counseling, referral services and Living Skills groups weekly with our clients. Revenue is also generated by our Thrift Store. We always welcome donations which can be dropped off or we will be happy to pick up at your request.
